How to Use Naturopathic Coaching to Gain Health & Balance
In a world that often asks us to push through pain, numb discomfort, and ignore intuition, there’s a quieter, more rooted way of approaching wellness. It’s one that listens to the body, works with nature, and believes in the power of small, intentional changes. As a trained herbalist and someone beginning my path into naturopathic coaching, I’ve created this space to gently share what I’m learning, both from study and from lived experience.
This blog is not a platform for polished programs or services just yet—rather, it’s the beginning of something deeper: a space to educate, connect, and lay the foundation for a holistic practice to come.
From Exhaustion to Awakening: My Personal Health Story
My journey into holistic wellness wasn’t one I chose—it was one I grew into out of necessity.
In 2006, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and Hypertension. Within a year, I was also diagnosed with Psoriasis, and a few months later, Psoriatic Arthritis—an autoimmune condition that slowly took over my daily life. Over time, I was prescribed the standard medications. But when one stopped working, instead of stopping it, doctors would simply add another on top.
I’ve taken nearly every prescription you see advertised on television for Psoriatic Arthritis. The results were minimal, and my condition only worsened. At one point, I needed a walker to move around my home, and I forced myself to use a cane when out in public. I cried every time I had to stand up and be on my feet. I became depressed, frustrated, and mentally exhausted. I wasn’t just sick—I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.
That phrase eventually became the title of a book I’m now writing, because it marked a turning point in my life.
At the start of 2024, I made a decision. I had always been drawn to herbs and the healing power of nature, so I began learning—slowly, carefully, and consistently. And while herbs have played a big role in my healing, it wasn’t just the plants that made a difference.
I changed the way I eat—focusing on whole, nourishing foods that support my energy and balance. This shift in mindset and habit has led me to lose 30 pounds—so far. More importantly, it’s shown me the power of a holistic mindset: one that treats food, rest, movement, and emotions as interconnected and essential to healing.
Since beginning this healing journey, I’ve seen truly transformative changes. I’ve reversed my Type 2 Diabetes—my A1c now falls in the non-diabetic range. My blood pressure and cholesterol levels have improved dramatically, and I’ve regained energy I thought I had lost for good. I’m walking more freely, feeling more emotionally grounded, and embracing each small victory along the way.
Though I still face challenges with autoimmune disease, I’m more in tune with my body than ever. Recently, I reacted severely to a new medication—75% of my skin broke out in eczema, layered on top of my psoriasis. Thankfully, another medication has helped stabilize things for now. I’m currently exploring ways to formulate an herbal equivalent—but that part of the journey is still in progress.
What Is Naturopathic Coaching?
Naturopathic coaching is a gentle, empowering approach to wellness that looks at the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. It doesn’t focus on “fixing” symptoms, but instead supports the body’s natural rhythms through lifestyle, nutrition, stress management, herbal support, and education.
While I’m not currently offering formal coaching sessions, I’m actively studying, researching, and laying the groundwork for what will eventually become a heart-centered, holistic practice.
Core Principles of Naturopathic Philosophy
Nature’s Healing Power
Nature has a way of guiding us back to balance. Herbal teas, food as medicine, fresh air, movement, and rest are all tools the body understands and responds to.
Finding Root Causes
Instead of chasing symptoms, this approach asks: What’s really going on beneath the surface? Often, the answers lie in digestion, stress, trauma, or inflammation.
Wholeness Over Fixing
Wellness is not about perfection. It’s about listening, adapting, and nurturing what the body already knows how to do—heal.
Education and Empowerment
In everything I study and share, the goal is the same: to help others reconnect with their inner wisdom and feel capable of participating in their own healing.
Blending Herbalism with Holistic Living
With a year of herbalist training and countless hours spent studying traditional and modern herbal wisdom, I’m learning to see plants not just as remedies, but as allies. Herbs like nettle, lemon balm, and ashwagandha are becoming part of my daily rhythms—offering support, grounding, and gentle nourishment.
Whether it’s sipping a calming tea, creating a herbal-infused oil, or journaling in the presence of burning sage, these rituals anchor me. They’re not fixes—they’re companions.
Living a Holistic Lifestyle: Simple Ways to Begin
– Nourishment: Eating seasonally, adding herbs to meals, and staying hydrated.
– Rest and Rhythm: Building predictable routines and honoring the need for deep, restorative sleep.
– Emotional Balance: Creating space for reflection, boundary-setting, and intentional stillness.
– Natural Rituals: Lighting a candle, sipping a bedtime tea, taking a walk barefoot—small actions, big shifts.
Where I’m At on This Journey
Right now, I’m not offering coaching services—but I’m building toward them. Slowly, intentionally, and with deep care. This space will continue to grow with insights, resources, and stories from my own path in wellness.
In time, I may begin offering services and personalized herbal formulations—such as teas or other herbal remedies that can help support your journey toward balance in life. But until then, I’m simply here: learning, sharing, and holding space for the future.

Conclusion: Tending the Soil Before the Seeds
This blog marks the beginning of something new—not a business launch, but a quiet unfolding. A space to explore, reflect, and grow. Before there’s a garden, there’s soil. And I’m tending to mine with presence, purpose, and hope.
In future posts, I’ll share more about why I chose this path, and what continues to inspire me to walk it—especially through the lens of healing, herbal wisdom, and holistic living.
If you’re walking your own path toward wellness, I hope something here has encouraged you. We all deserve to feel connected, empowered, and well.
